Tau-Beta-Pi Student SectionTau-Beta-Pi is the national Engineering Honors Society. Students are eligibile for membership only after demonstrating outstanding academic achievement and exemplary character. The Oregon Beta chapter at PSU consists of Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering students and faculty. We are active in the University and the community. We do projects such as volunteering at the food bank, and acting as judges for the competitions of engineering week. Because our chapter has won the Secretary's Commendation Award for four years running, one student member will receive the Tau Beta Scholarship for Oregon Beta. About That Beta ...The Tau-Beta-Pi Chapters in each state are designated by sequential letters in the Greek alphabet. The first section established in the state is designated “alpha”, the second section established is designated “beta”, and so on. The PSU Chapter was formed second (after Oregon State), and hence its official title is “Oregon Beta”.
