The Engineering Building is located at 1930 SW Fourth Avenue.
On the campus map
we're at row E/F, column 10.
Fourth Avenue is a one-way running south to north. There
is a parking structure under the building. Across the street
is a 76 Gas Station.

Traveling By Car From I-5, I-84 or Highway 26
- Follow I-5 as you pass the Rose Garden Arena and
downtown appears on your right.
- Move to the center or left lane as you approach the
Marquam Bridge -- the double-deck bridge over the
Willamette River on the south edge of downtown.
- Follow the signs for I-405 and Highway 26 (Beaverton) and take
the left fork on the bridge.
- Take Exit 1B: Fourth Avenue -- the first exit
after leaving the bridge.
- The light at the end of the ramp is Lincoln St. Keep going
straight, but stay in the right-most lane. The Engineering
Building is the second building on the next block (after Lincoln).
Look for the brick building -- the ramp to the parking structure
is on the corner.
- If you miss the entrance to the parking structure, go around
the BIG block to the right (Right on Harrison. Right on SW 1st,
Right on Lincoln) and try again.
- From I-5 heading north toward downtown, follow the signs
for I-405, Beaverton.
- Stay right as you merge with the traffic from
the Marquam bridge
- Take the first exit: Southwest Fourth
- The light at the end of the ramp is Lincoln St. Keep going
straight, but stay in the right-most lane. The Engineering
Building is the second building on the next block (after Lincoln).

- If you miss the entrance to the parking structure, go around
the BIG block to the right (Right on Harrison. Right on SW 1st,
Right on Lincoln) and try again.
- Heading west via I-84, follow the signs to I-5 south (Salem)
and I-405 west (Beaverton). Move to the center or left lane
as you approach the Marquam bridge -- the double-deck bridge over the
Willamette River on the south edge of downtown.
- Follow signs for I-405 and Highway 26 (Beaverton) and take
the left fork on the bridge.

Because Fourth Avenue is one-way heading north the approach to the
building from the west involves more downtown driving than the other
directions. There is a back street ninja technique to get from Highway
26 to Barbur and then to Fourth. There's another route that takes
you from Fifth Avenue heading south to Lincoln St. east and then
onto Fourth, but it requires finding a short, small side street
that connects Fifth Avenue and Lincoln. The following directions are more
straightforward, though they take you through a little more downtown
traffic.
- From Highway 26 heading toward downtown move to the center lane
after you pass the Sylvan exit (at the top of the hill).
Be sure you are in the center lane before entering the
tunnel.
- After emerging from the tunnel, continue straight ahead
to take the Market St. Exit.
- Take market through town to Southwest First Avenue --
almost to the river
- Turn Right on Southwest First
- Turn Right at Lincoln -- the second light
- Go up the hill and turn right on Southwest Fourth -- the next light
- The Engineering
Building is the second building on your right after turning
onto Southwest Fourth.
Look for the brick building -- the ramp to the parking structure
is on the corner.
- If you miss the entrance to the parking structure, go around
the BIG block to the right (Right on Harrison. Right on SW 1st,
Right on Lincoln) and try again.
There is a somewhat confusing route from the parking structure to the MME office
on the fourth floor of the Engineering Building. From the parking structure take
the elevator up two floors to the lobby (PL button on the elevator, PL for
"plaza") of the Fourth Avenue Building (1900 SW Fourth) which is
next door to the Engineering building
From the lobby of the Fourth Avenue building walk outside and to
the south. The Engineering Building is the brick and glass structure
with the swooping arc of artwork. From the front doors, the
elevators of the Engineering Building are ahead and slightly to
the right. The Mechanical and Materials
Engineering Department is on the fourth floor: turn right as
you leave the elevator on the fourth floor.
The Fariborz Maseeh Auditorium is Room 102 (ground floor) in the Engineering
Building. If you are arriving from the parking structure follow the directions
for getting upstairs and instead of going up to the
fourth floor, go to Room 102 on the ground floor. As you enter the front doors,
head left across the atrium and follow the hallway. The entrance to the
auditorium is on the north side of the building.
